Lore of Swords

Senchas Claideb (pronounced shen-uh-chus kla-djuhv) meaning “Lore of Swords” in Medieval Gaelic is managed by independent author Ethan Sabatella.

Senchas Claideb is a digital magazine featuring original pulp short stories and serials within the sword & sorcery, cosmic horror, and historical fiction genres. Senchas Claideb also publishes essays on writing advice, opinion pieces, media reviews relevant to pulp fiction, and advertises other publications written by Ethan Sabatella – these are available for every subscriber to view for free.

The bards of Ireland and Scotland valued storytelling and song-making as being among prized, practical artisanry such as blacksmithing and carpentry. Their ancient hunter-warriors known as the Fianna would not allow anyone to enter their ranks unless he could recite poems, songs, and stories. For the Gaels, storytelling is as integral to life as breathing; I hold similar values as a writer seeking to dedicate his life to telling stories.

It is my hope, through this publication, that I might persist in forging tales of battle, horror, and finding dawn through blood and darkness to share with everyone who sees joy or meaning in such stories.

I will also be sharing my interests and ideas as I make this journey. It will be long and difficult, but I know in my soul that it is what I am supposed to do.
