Hey, great list of old and new, classic and current interpretations of S&S, Ethan. Super glad you listed Seth - you must find and read his Black Raven duology.

Thanks, Jason! Since I've experienced Valducan and Ashes of Onyx, I suppose Black Raven is next on the list!

Where to begin. So many choices. I’ll take your advice and start with your recommended first read if I can easily get my hands on it. The Skorkowsky series sounds fascinating too. I need a new audio book to listen to.

It’s good of you to call out Whetstone and the Crimson Quill and bring some attention to those worthy publications.

I’ve been reading fantasy for over 40 years and feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s available. Thanks for sharing all of these great recommendations.

The Valducan books are really well narrated! They're a great choice for audibooks!

Hope these lead you to some more awesome reads!

Just reading Seth Skorkowsky's name immediately had me hearing him say, "Hello, internet!" I've been meaning to read his books for some time now. This was a good reminder to make sure I do so.

Seth is a mainstay in terms of my favorite YouTubers! And his writing is awesome as well! I recently finished his newer novel, "Ashes of Onyx", and really enjoyed it.

Don't sleep on Fritz Lieber either. Howard Andrew Jones is doing some solid S&S these days, and REH also wrote Solomon Kane, which is rock solid Sword and Sorcery.

I also write S&S, and have a few free stories on my substack.
