I never quite understood how so many of the Celtic and Norse people were lured away from their gods and towards Christianity. It just seems to run counter to their culture and beliefs.
There was a lot of social and political benefits that came with it at the time. A large amount of pagan beliefs may have survived conversion but were repurposed to fit the Christian narrative.

Potentially! I like to leave some things up to the reader, though I'm also not overly conscious of putting "messages" in my stories.
